Remote emergency call

How does the remote emergency call work in lifts?

Lifts must be equipped with an emergency call system. The emergency call must be passed on to a support centre that is on duty round-the-clock.

As this cannot be guaranteed in most buildings, some lift manufacturers offer a transfer of calls to a support centre that is on duty round-the-clock.

Releasing trapped persons can then be arranged from this central office. Emergency calls to a central office on duty 24 hours a day are mostly issued as “silent emergency calls”.

In this case the horn signal in the shaft can be omitted.
