Misuse detection for emergency calls

Information on misuse detection for emergency calls

Exposure of emergency calls that have been made by accident or by bad intention by applying 2 distinct measures:

  • The panic button has to be pressed down for more than 3 seconds to actually sound the alarm and be put through to the lift manufacturer’s support centre, which is on duty 24 hours a day and which in turn decides upon the measures to be taken. Short activations of the panic button are not transferred.
  • Optionally a video surveillance of the car can be agreed. Once the emergency call is received by the manufacturer’s support centre, which is on duty 24 hours a day, a video image of the car’s interior is shown. Emergency calls that have been made by accident or bad intention are recognised and the pointless assignment of a service technician avoided.
