Efficient measures – lower consumption
In the Federal Republic of Germany, buildings consume about 40 per cent of the total national power consumption.1) Lifts hold a 3 to 5 per cent share in it, amounting to 18 TWh a year taken all of Europe together.2)
There are various factors influencing the amount of energy a lift consumes:
- power consumed per trip
- power consumed at standstill
- loss of energy (heat) caused by venting the lift shaft.
We have designed a wealth of solutions for improved energy efficiency. In this regard, excellent support for us means to take these measures as a basis of tailoring concepts of modernisation.

Thus, assuming that a lift system mainly runs in stand-by mode,
state-of-the-art control units can help to reduce their power consumption by up to 50 per cent. A shaft venting system can be built to reduce the amount of energy and heat lost in the venting process. Having qualified experts service your lift in a competent and sustainable manner in conformity with EN 13015 will maintain the success of your energy reduction measures in the long run.
