Parking stop

A predefined parking stop

If there are no calls, the lift cage travels to a previously defined stop - usually ground-level, because this level is likely to boast the most traffic.

Lifts that are joined in groups are parked at different floors to be able to respond quickly if a passenger calls for a lift.
