Shaft copying

Today no longer used form of location determination of the car in the shaft.

For shaft copying mechanical switches or solenoid-operated switches were mounted in the shaft head, pit and near the stops. The control system received information via these switches that the car was near a stop and reduced the speed.

Digital path measuring systems are state of the art.
